SAFETY: THE KEY WORD AT FILORGA LABORATORIES

At FILORGA, safety assessments are carried out throughout the entire life cycle of our products, from sourcing ingredients to developing our skincare products and their use by consumers.

  • All our formulas are evaluated by an independent toxicologist who analyzes the toxicological profile of each ingredient and calculates the safety margins for each one.
  • Microbiological tests, stability tests, patch tests (clinical skin tolerance tests after a single application of the product) are carried out on volunteers, as well as in vitro eye toxicity tests.
  • Our products are then evaluated by independent laboratories supervised by a doctor.
  • Tolerance is assessed in clinical studies on healthy volunteers who use our products under normal and foreseeable conditions of use. This step allows us to identify any adverse effects and reformulate the product if necessary.
  • Once the product is on the market, our cosmetovigilance department collects any adverse effects reported by consumers following the use of one of our products in order to continuously improve the formulas.
  • We also closely monitor developments in scientific knowledge and toxicological data on the various ingredients, as well as regulatory news.

FILORGA LABORATORIES RELY ON RESULTS. NOT PROMISES

Our products undergo in vitro testing (Latin for “under glass”) on reconstructed human skin models, as well as ex vivo testing (Latin for “outside the living body”) on human skin explants (recovered following surgical procedures). This approach allows us to accurately analyze the mechanism of action of our products, such as their impact on collagen synthesis, in order to guarantee optimal results.

Our cosmetic products undergo rigorous clinical studies (in vivo, Latin for “in the living”) conducted by independent laboratories under medical supervision. These studies involve healthy volunteers who apply the product according to a specific application protocol for several weeks. Efficacy tests include instrumental measurements, clinical scores, and self-assessments, allowing for accurate evaluation of changes in certain skin parameters such as hydration levels, wrinkle depth, skin tone, and complexion radiance before and after product application. This rigorous scientific approach ensures the reliability and relevance of the results obtained.

THE COMBINATION OF AN ENJOYABLE AND SENSORY EXPERIENCE

We firmly believe that the pleasure experienced when applying a product plays a major role in ensuring regular use of a skincare routine, which contributes to its overall effectiveness. That's why we place great importance on the sensory experience of our products, using 18 rigorous evaluation criteria (such as opacity, spreadability, and stickiness) to guarantee a unique experience for our users.

DISSEMINATING OUR SCIENCE

At FILORGA Laboratories, we place paramount importance on scientific rigour in our research. With this in mind, we actively participate in international conferences such as IMCAS in Paris and AMWC in Monaco. These events provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas with doctors from around the world and share the results of our research at scientific conferences, through oral presentations and posters. We consider these events to be a crucial step in our ongoing quest for improvement and innovation in the field of cosmetics inspired by aesthetic medicine.

Our conferences :

  • Dr Poignonec S., Sanchez-Manoilov L., Guéhenneux S. (28 janvier 2023). Skin ageing and skin barrier: which cosmetic solutions to restore the skin in addition to aesthetic medicine? [Conférence]. IMCAS World Congress 2023, Paris.
  • Dr Sabatier-Cabrol C., Guéhenneux S. (30 mars 2023). Innovations to treat the periorbital area: PRF injections technique and cosmetic solution. [Conférence]. AMWC World Congress 2023, Monaco.

We publish articles in prestigious scientific journals in order to disseminate new knowledge, demonstrate the effectiveness of our products and new technologies, and strengthen our credibility within the international scientific community. These articles describe the methods used and the results obtained in our research work. They are peer-reviewed, meaning that they are examined prior to publication by a review committee composed of other researchers.
