Before choosing your beauty routine, it’s important to know your skin type well to be able to give it the best care. Normal, dry, oily or combination skin… each one is unique. Here is some advice to recognize your skin’s needs.

Understanding your skin type

With age, the environment, hormonal changes and external aggressions, our skin changes.

To identify your skin type, it’s vital to know its characteristics :

  • Normal skin: This is balanced skin that shows no signs of major imperfections.
It is soft, supple and doesn’t suffer from a lack of hydratation.
  • Dry skin: From tightness to redness and itching, dry skin deserves special attention. Deficient in lipids, dry skin also tends to become dehydrated due to a noneffective/porous protective barrier that encourages evaporation. Good hydration is key.
  •  Oily skin: It has imperfections, shiny areas and excess sebum. The skin is also characterised by enlarged pores, blackheads and disrupted sebum production.
  • Combination skin: This skin type is the most difficult to identify. It is characterised by oily areas: the forehead, nose, chin (the T-zone) and by drier areas
    around the cheeks.

How to take care of it

Now that we know our skin type, we can choose products tailored to our needs.

  • Normal skin: A routine consisting of a day cream and moisturising night cream is enough to maintain the skin’s balance.
  • Dry skin: Ultra-nourishment is the key to a healthy complexion if your skin is naturally dry. To make sure you don’t go wrong, choose daily moisturisers with rich and comfortable textures.
  • Oily skin: Avoid products that aggravate the skin and stimulate excessive sebum production. Exfoliating once a week will be beneficial. Choose skincare products with
light gel textures to prevent the skin from becoming too oily.
  • Combination skin: Choose products that regulate sebum in the T-zone while preserving hydration on the rest of the face. Matte skincare products are also our best
    allies for beautiful skin.
